Description of Application
The Desert Breeze Water Resource Center is a state-of-the-art water treatment facility providing treated reclaimed water to Las Vegas area golf courses. The facility currently treats up to 5 million gallons per day.
During a maintenance inspection, it was determined that the concrete tanks had begun degrading at an alarming rate. Based on its performance in other CCWRD facilities, Raven 405 was chosen as the protective coating material for the concrete structures.
Time became a factor because of the fall openings of area golf courses. To speed up the rehabilitation process, National Coating and Lining recommended deleting the concrete repair parge coat and instead, apply Raven 405 at greater than 200 mils dry film thickness to fill up the heavy profile of the degraded concrete. This solution saved more than 30 critical working days, and the treated water was delivered on schedule to the golf courses.
